Cheesy Bites at Forma SM

If you live on the Westside, you’ve probably heard of Forma’s Venice or Santa Monica locations. But did you know that the Santa Monica location offers daily happy hour Menus? From 3PM - 6PM, you can order $7 wines and small dishes for as low as $7 as long as you sit at the bar (don’t worry it’s a spacious bar with a charming view of all the cheeses they offer).

My friend and I ordered the house cabernet sauvignon ($7), Gnocco Fritto ($7), Filet Mignon Tartare ($12), and Burrata ($12). We were happy with the prices (~50% off from its dinner menu), and the dishes were also delightful. I was especially happy with the Filet Mignon Tartare, generously topped with parmigiano.

We went on a Wednesday late afternoon before the dinner crowd and had a pleasant time.

The conclusion?

Some happy hour menus are barely discounted, but Forma’s offerings impressed us– particularly for being located on Montana Ave. Not only were their prices great, they have a good selection of 25 dishes you could try! Lastly, although the 3PM-6PM window may challenge those with a standard work schedule, the weekend window is a gem in the happy hour scene. Forma is definitely added to my Happy Hour rotation.

*Please note Happy Hour deals and timings can change without notice, so it’s a good idea to double-check before you head out.
